Mary Saywell

Mary joined Solubility as a Senior Associate in March 2026 to enhance our depth and expand our Sydney presence.  An experienced commercial lawyer, Mary has practised for many years in commercial intellectual property at top-tier firms, advising clients in a range of industries with a focus on life sciences. She has expertise in working with pharmaceutical and medical device companies and significant corporate and research governance experience.

Mary joined Solubility from the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, where she gained knowledge of the medical research sector. She was involved with a wide range of matters and deepened her understanding of commercialisation and patent strategy, collaborative research and multi-institutional agreements, clinical trial governance and ethics, material and data transfer agreements and affiliation and partnership arrangements. Mary works with Solubility clients as a trusted advisor on all aspects of IP commercialisation.
